Asian Art Museum Council

Founded in 2010 to develop the museum’s next generation of philanthropists and leaders while broadening its current audiences, the Asian Art Museum Council brings a vibrant perspective to the museum and is an integral part of its plans for a vital future.
Membership in the AAM Council is by invitation. AAM Council members make yearly contributions of $5,000 to support the museum’s Annual Fund, which underwrites all museum activities, from its world-class exhibitions to its highly-respected educational programs and permanent collection.

The Next Generation of Museum Leaders
Asian Art Museum Council members develop an intimate relationship with the museum through regular opportunities to engage with its governing boards and senior leadership. The group also works to build audiences for the museum’s contemporary art and family programs, two areas of key strategic importance and focus.

Council members:
  • Are passionate about Asian art and culture
  • Make yearly contributions to the museum’s Annual Fund at the $5,000 level or higher
  • Are committed to a 2-year or more membership to the Council
  • Introduce the museum to new audiences by inviting their personal networks to Council programs and/or other museum activities
  • Participate in quarterly Council meetings (two in person, two via conference call)
  • Attend Council programs and activities
  • Attend at least two museum board meetings per year
  • Represent the Asian Art Museum in their communities
