Wheelchairs

The Asian Art Museum is accessible to wheelchair users. Wheelchairs and lightweight folding stools may be borrowed on a first-come, first-served basis from Coat Check.

Guide and Service Animals

Trained guide and service animals are welcome.

Services for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Visitors

Assistive Listening Devices

Assistive Listening Devices are available for public programs and for selected docent tours. Appointments may be made for an ALD tour with two weeks' notice.

Sign Language Interpretation

Sign language interpreters are provided with two weeks' notice. Last-minute requests will be honored when possible.

Telephones

A TTY pay phone equipped with an acoustic coupler is located on the ground level.

Audio Tour

A transcript of the multimedia tour may be borrowed from the Information Desk.

Services for Blind and Visually Impaired Visitors

For your information, in order to protect the artwork, some of the galleries have low lighting levels.

Multimedia Tour

A complimentary multimedia tour may be borrowed from the Information desk.

Large Print

Large-print floor plans are available at the Information Desk. Magnifiers may be borrowed from the Information Desk. For selected temporary exhibitions, large-print versions of selected label text are available in the galleries.

Talking Signs

The Asian Art Museum is equipped with Talking Signs transmitters. Talking Signs receivers may be borrowed on a first-come, first-served basis from the Information Desk.
