The samurai carried a variety of weapons, including in many cases multiple swords. This video is a 10-minute synopsis of a longer documentary about the making of the long swords known as katana.
A true art. No one does it better than the Japanese. I love it.

i am thinking about forging my own sword soon. would anybody know as to where i can buy some high grade metal for a good price? my price range is around 50, 100, 200 or 300 dollars no higher and no lower.
Good choice of video. I found this on You tube a while ago before coming to this site. I even included it onto my own site because it demonstrates the skill involved in make a katana sword.

Wow, it’s sad how sword making is such a lost art… People really don’t show enough respect for a properly made sword.
