		<description>Definitely worth a read/watch--I don&#039;t think I&#039;ve seen it since it came out, but I re-read the book a little while ago.  Very much not the usual Ballard, but very worth it.  
I&#039;m going to have to check out City of Life &amp; Death: my to-see list is growing scary long.</description>

What you wrote reminded me of &lt;i&gt;City of Life and Death&lt;/i&gt; (about the Nanking Massacre), which I recently saw at the SFIAAFF. There&#039;s a young boy in that film who offers a similar example of the resiliency of life when confronted by war.</description>
