Here is something to get you in the mood for the Burmese puppets that will grace our museum later this week. I found a wonderful video on the creation of these amazing puppets on YouTube by director Khi Phu Shin.

When most people think of the Samurai they usually picture men. Well, my feminist side led me on a bit of a search and sure enough there were women Samurai, just as powerful as the men.
I love vintage photography and so I went on a search of Samurai portraits. This slide show has a wonderful mix of armor and swords. It was very touching watching of this video, there so much sadness and pride within these men.

It is cool to see the building of city hall in the background, and just by the amount of opium pipes being burnt I can’t imagine what a wild west city this used to be.
