Look closer. Ask questions. Experience history.
Art opens the mind and awakens the heart to infinite possibilities. What we find continues to surprise and inspire. At the Asian Art Museum students learn how cultures intersected and influenced one another throughout history. Art reveals how we all share a history with connections transcending boundaries of geography and time. An accessible and inspiring environment for educators and students, the Asian Art Museum illuminates the arts and cultures of Asia.
We offer a variety of inquiry-based school tours, including storytelling tours and docent-led school tours that support California History-Social Science, English Language Arts, and Visual Arts Content Standards.
In addition to school tours, the education department offers a number of learning opportunities for the educational community. Educator programs are offered throughout the year on a variety of topics.
The Asian Art Museum also offers an array of educational resources. Download, borrow or purchase educator resource packets, lessons, activities, and videos; search for us on YouTube and iTunes U for additional multimedia and curriculum connections; or schedule an appointment with our education staff to discuss how you can enhance your lesson plans with our selection of books, curriculum guides, hands-on materials, poster kits and more.
