  • PAL Artist Retreat

Workshops & Activities, and part of Pilipinx American Library

    Aug 11

    11 AM—4 PM

    Samsung Hall

The PAL Artist Retreat gathers artists, writers, curators and cultural workers across disciplines for the purpose of fostering community, collaboration and intergenerational dialogue within the Filipino community and the broader contemporary art world. This day-long convening will include a mix of panels, breakouts and conversations on strategies for visibility, representation, support, mentorship and other possibilities.

The retreat features a presentation by artist Janna Añonuevo Langholz, whose work explores her identity as a second-generation Filipino American and her relationship to place through photography, installations, performances and participatory projects. She is the founder and editor of Filipino American Artist Directory, an annual publication and initiative to connect and promote artists of Filipino heritage in the U.S. and beyond.
