Wattis Senior Curator of South and Southeast Asian Art Dr. Forrest McGill presents as a case study of artistic fusion on the work of American designer and artist Lockwood de Forest (1850-1932), an associate of Louis Comfort Tiffany. After a trip to India in 1879 de Forest went into business with an Indian partner to fabricate luxurious Indian-style furniture and architectural decorations for prestigious US clients. A pair of chairs and a painting by de Forest from the museum's collection will be on view for the evening.

This event is open to Friend, Patron, Jade Circle and Nexus members.
