  • Village Artist Corner Activation: The Giving Wall

Workshops & Activities, and part of Art/Lit Living Innovation Zone: Program Activations

    Mar 03

    Free

    11 AM—3 PM

Corner of Fulton and Larkin Streets

The Giving Wall, an edible microgreens mural by Village Artists-In-Residence FAABI Life Art Group, will be the central inspiration for all Village Artist Corner activations in the spring. On first Sundays from Feb. 8 through May 31, stop by the corner to decorate a canvas bag and then use the bag to harvest microgreens alongside the artists. Leaders from local community gardens and eateries will demonstrate the seeding, harvesting and preparing of microgreens and other plant-based foods, sharing the resulting dishes with the community. FAABI Life Art Group’s aim is to show the how simple gardening and art-making can be the means of growing a compassion-based culture. Other surprise multisensory experiences will take place each first Sunday alongside the mural and food preparation.

    About the Village Artist Corner

As part of a city initiative to revive underutilized public spaces with art, performance and community activities, San Francisco has created several installations through the Groundplay program. We are honored to share the Village Artist Corner (VAC) on the corner of Fulton and Larkin streets with the San Francisco Public Library. The VAC is a platform for creative compassion through installations, performances, art-making and other events, and includes a 30-foot-long mural wall that presents a rotating display of site-specific artworks.
