Food as medicine. This is the shared perspective of Monica Lo and Felicity Chen, two food lovers and activists who are part of a cohort of Bay Area women of color changing the perception of gender and cannabis use in the industry. They join us for an evening of tea and talk about the history of cannabis as a traditional Chinese medicine and the ways in which it is used today as a healing herb in cooking. The program starts with a Chinese tea ceremony for a small number of invited guests, and tea will be served to all visitors throughout the program.

    PM Snacks + Tea
    6:30-8 PM Talk

At the Table provides a new way to experience food in this series of talks, tastings and tattoo tales inspired by the exhibition Tattoos in Japanese Prints. At the Table explores the culinary specialties and tattoos of Bay Area chefs and foodie tattoo artists.

Monica Lo is a photographer and creative director working to change public perception of cannabis users. Monica is also the creator of Sous Weed, a cooking blog dedicated to using cannabis as a superfood ingredient in the home kitchen. Sous Weed offers practical advice for both beginners and enthusiasts to holistically understand the use case of cannabis in their lives and create sous vide cannabis-infused dishes without mess, smell, or worry.

Felicity Chen is co-founder of local cannabis-infused honey company Potli. Potli started with a product made for Chen’s mother, an asthma patient who had been deterred from exploring the health benefits of cannabis. With her in mind, Felicity set out to craft a product people could trust. With Potli, Chen hopes to change the emotional response to cannabis from intimidation or uncertainty to excitement and joy.

Free bike valet parking provided by San Francisco Bicycle Coalition.
