    11 AM—4 PM

200 Larkin St, San Francisco, 94102-4734

Celebrate the Year of the Horse with students from the Chinese American International School presenting classical music and dance from China to kick off the Lunar New Year. The program ends, as tradition states, with a playful student-arranged version of the lion dance which is believed to scare away evil spirits and ensure a bright beginning to the year.

After the performance, enjoy Amy Ma’s story about Chinese zodiac animals and their characteristics and discover something new about yourself.

Pre–K stories 11:00 am–11:30 am; Lion dance 12:00–12:45 pm; Lunar New Year stories 1:00–1:45 pm; hands-on activities 11:30 am–4:00 pm
