Are you down with DIY? Are you ready for an evening that can only be described as Craft Wars meets Project Runway meets terracotta warriors?

Some serious craft virtuosos will be present to help transform our museum into a workshop for one night.
Emiko Oye,
Ealish Wilson,
Kathryn Kenworth, and
Megumi Inouye all dominate their respective areas (jewelry, sculptural textiles, discarded materials use, gift wrapping). Choose your team (are you a "textures" person or a "colors" person?) and acquire the handy skills you'll need to construct fashionable armor and accessories inspired by the iconic terracotta warriors. Harness your newly learned techniques to add personal touches.
Model your handmade haute couture for the cameras. Don't want to get your hands dirty? Observe from the sidelines and cheer on your favorite team. Learn the skinny on the Bay Area craft scene with Handful of Salt, Workshop Residence, The Crucible, and SCRAP among others. May the best craft warrior win.
The galleries will be open, including terracotta warrior ones, for your viewing pleasure. Don't forget to grab a drink from the bar, and enjoy tunes by Velvet Einstein who'll be the deejay on deck. Museum admission (including
China's Terracotta Warriors)is only $10; everything else is free. You can
RSVP on Facebook.
