    6—9 PM

In honor of the U.S. debut of the iconic “Meat-shaped stone,” a piece of jasper carved to resemble succulent pork belly — part of the exhibition Emperors’ Treasures: Chinese Art from the National Palace Museum, Taipei — the museum presents PORK, a tribute to both this masterpiece and dongpo rou, the famous dish that inspired it.

Jamie Chu, curatorial project assistant, will introduce the history of the pork dish and the inspiration behind the artwork. This program features exciting new interpretations of dongpo rou prepared by four local culinary innovators, including
Curtis Lam of The Chairman, Mariko Grady, founder of Aedan Fermented, Dennis Lee, founder and chef of Namu Gaji, and Timothy Luym, chef of the upcoming Buffalo Theory. After they present their mouthwatering interpretations of dongpo rou, we invite guests to grab a pork passport and sample each dish. The night also includes music by DJ Umami, a cash bar and a special food-themed tour of Emperors’ Treasures.

6 PM – Special food-themed tour of Emperors’ Treasures

    6:30 PM – Presentations
7:30 PM – Pork tastings (while supplies last)

Advanced tickets are strongly encouraged; seating is limited. Choose Programs & Events, PORK event ticket at checkout.
Receive your PORK passport for the night with your ticket in order to get samples of the dishes. Only those with the passport may participate so be sure to get your tickets before we sell out!
