Rhino Nickname Contest

In November, we asked you to submit nickname ideas for our bronze Chinese rhinoceros masterpiece. Thousands of you chipped in from all over the world with your wonderful submissions.

Then, we worked really hard to whittle down the massive selection to just a short list of top contenders. This was not an easy job.

Next, we asked you to vote for your favorite from these four finalists: Bao Bei, Suma, Percy and Reina.

After thousands of votes, the people have spoken. The official nickname for our masterpiece bronze Chinese rhinoceros is...

(drumroll, please...)

Not only is "Reina the Rhino" alliterative and fun to say, it also means "queen" in Spanish and Tagalog ("reyna"). Thank you for all your help. We wish we could give you a big rhino hug. Learn more about Reina and why it is one of our most beloved artworks. Whenever you see Reina in our galleries, be sure to tag your photos with #ReinatheRhino.
