In Korea, it is understood that if one makes ceramics, one must do it well. From the Fire showcases 108 vibrantly diverse artworks by 54 of Korea’s most important ceramic artists, revealing the latest innovations of the country’s rich ceramic tradition.

This exhibition is the largest survey ever to come to North America of Korea's finest contemporary ceramics. The objects on view combine traditional techniques with new influences and innovative methods to create both functional and sculptural works, expanding on the adventurous spirit of Korea's 5,000-year old ceramic tradition. The exhibition takes the viewer on a journey through the past to the present, reflecting on the mountainous, rugged landscape of Korea to produce abstract geometric shapes of bold color and fresh designs.
