  The C. Laan Chun Library Center

The Asian Art Museum not only houses one of the most spectacular collections of Asian art in the United States it also has one of the more comprehensive research libraries on Asian art and culture in the country. With over 40,000 titles and more than 230 active serial subscriptions, as well as auction catalogs, microforms, and photograph collections the C. Laan Chun Library Center has many materials, both rare and scholarly, not available in many of the local university and college libraries. Subject areas cover not only art but archaeology, architecture, landscape architecture, history, philosophy, religion, folk culture, festivals and folklore, literature, the performing arts, and music, as well as some specialized materials on Asian science and medicine.

The library’s collections are available to the general public by appointment only, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Collections are noncirculating, but there is a photocopy machine in the reading room. Photocopies are $0.10 per page.
