Comic Artist Q&A
Saturday, Nov 5
1–4 PM
North Court
Meet the illustrators behind #DrawingRama at the museum for a casual Q&A about their original art for the comic and a discussion on what it takes to make it as a professional graphic artist, illustrator, and cartoonist in a design-centric city like San Francisco.

The Ramayana has been interpreted in every artistic medium high and low, and for decades has sparked the imagination of countless devotees through classic, cliff-hanger comics. In keeping with this tradition, the Asian Art Museum invited five Bay Area illustrators to re-imagine the main characters in their own visual storytelling styles. Four illustrators have drawn key episodes and the fifth designed the lush poster to “wrap-up” this limited edition version of the epic.
