Shanghai is a city like no other—an idea as much as a place. Visual culture, forward-thinking design, and an unusual mix of Western elements color the mood of this city. The world came to Shanghai's doorstep and left its indelible mark: from the clean lines of modernist architecture to revolutions in fashion and literature, Shanghai's style sets it apart from any other. To complement the major Shanghai exhibition, The Asian Art Museum Store has assembled a collection of objects and ephemera representative of the manifold moods of this dynamic city. Including porcelain vases based on traditional Chinese shapes and reworked in bright colors for a modern twist, two toned silk scarves, deco inspired jewelry, reproductions of old advertising posters, and vintage mementos of the Cultural Revolution.
